Trans-Siberian
Orchestra is a rock band that perform rock opera. By definition the group is an
oratorio. There is an orchestra that plays while they also have solo musical
artist, in addition to a chorus and vocal solos. In Orlando, they are often here around
Christmas and perform “The Lost Christmas Eve.” They are a rock band so they
have a pounding rhythm, which is loud, intense, coarse, and fast. Since it is
an oratorio the tempo over the presentation varies. The story being told uses
music and lighting to give intensity. The intensity going from innocence to
intense/rage gives such a profound feeling. The ability to feel the music and
those presenting allows for various emotions throughout the presentation.
