Chapter 3: Sculpture

Descriptive:
Wooden base with wires arranged in the shape of two hands. The wires are arranged to just be the outline of the hands. The base is a simple solid wooden piece.

Technical Elements:
The dimensionality of the figure is linear. The construction is with thin, elongated item such as wire. This sculpture uses composition by being comprised of the same elements. This sculpture uses the natural color of the wire and wood base with any addition of paint. The sculpture uses the natural color and elements in the construction.

Stimulation of Senses:
I view the sculpture to be a pair of “helping hands.” The hands appear to be as if they are being presented out and together in uniformity. They appear to be gentle in nature and nonaggressive. In the nursing field being able to help people a give a helping hand is what our jobs are meant to be about.
The artist is a male from India. The wire is being bent into freestanding line drawings.
